The word Ayurveda translates as the science of life in all aspects: physical, emotional & spiritual.  It is a 5,000 year old holistic medicine that offers timeless remedies to the stresses & illnesses of modern day living.  At the heart of Ayurveda is the individual's constitution...that is, the understanding that everyone is made up of a unique combination of the three attributes of creation: vata, pitta and kapha.  The Ayurvedic constitution influences the physical body structure as well as functional patterns such as appetite, sleep, reaction to stress, concentration & much more.  When a person knows their constitution, they can determine what the best diet, herbs, exercise & daily routine is for them.  In creating a lifestyle that meets one's unique needs, one experiences optimal health, mental endurance & overall well-being.
Physical health is maintained by diet, exercise and Ayurvedic self- care practices.
The primary therapies utilized for mental wellness are: meditation, pranayama, sound therapy, aroma therapy, sight therapy and yoga.
